Jeff McIntyre
Jeff joined and became a Partner in Aries, with John McIntyre (his Dad) in May of 1985. Jeff, as VP of Operations, ran the operational side of the business, allowing John the time to focus on sales. Jeff's vision for Aries was to become a full-service, global transportation provider. Jeff's initial emphasis was on North American Services (air and ground), for needed growth and stability. By 1990, Jeff began diversification, adding International Services (Air, Ocean and Imports), as originally envisioned. In 1995, Jeff became President and opened his first, of many, branch offices. In this same year, he introduced Logistics and Warehousing Services, to complement the full suite of global transportation services, already being provided. In 2004, Jeff became the President and CEO of Aries and began planning for the relocation of the company's global headquarters to facilitate further expansion and efficiencies. Jeff and the entire team, relocated into their new “home”, in April of 2009. Since 2009, Jeff has continued to focus on healthy and manageable growth for the organization, its customers, and the most valuable asset - the employees. Jeff is a native Houstonian with a beautiful wife and eight awesome kids. His hobbies include aviation, playing golf, church and spending time with his family.
Russ Schamun
A recognized and seasoned logistics leader, recently at CEVA and Radiant, Russ boasts over 45 years of executive leadership, strategy, operations, and business development experience. As Aries’ first COO, Russ will focus on the continued development of operational excellence for all of Aries' freight and logistics services. He served in numerous executive roles and is a graduate of the University of Alabama where he lettered in Football. Born and raised in Napa, California, Russ is married with 4 children.
Bryan Bartels
Bryan Bartels is the Corporate Counsel, Controller and Chief Information Officer. Bryan oversees Aries' legal, financial and information technology matters. He joined Aries team in 2013, after previously working at General Electric. In 2004, he graduated from Marquette, with a Degree in Economics and Computer Science. In 2008, he earned a JD and MBA at The Marquette Law School and The Marquette Graduate School of Management. Bryan is registered patent attorney. Bryan is an avid reader, lifetime learner, enjoys tinkering with computers and scuba diving. Bryan lives in Houston and is married with 3 beautiful children.
Richard Ladwig
Richard brings his 24 years (and going) of global logistics experience to his role at Aries Worldwide. Starting from, literally, the ground up in the warehouse loading trucks, to global business development roles, he truly believes Aries is the right place to be and grow for all current and future team members, as well as clients. He says we have a unique mix of experience, talent, and vision that is unrivaled in the market. Outside of work, Richard enjoys fitness, staying active, and spending as much time with his family as he possibly can. If you want to learn how to wash a car properly, reach out to Richard. His retirement game plan is to own his own car wash company.
John Frisbee
John Frisbee is the Director of Aries' Corporate Administration. John is responsible for Risk Management, Asset Procurement & Management and Facilities / Portfolio Management. With 15 years of experience with Aries Worldwide Logistics and over 25 years in the industry - including logistics, inventory, risk management and supply chain management, John has played an essential role in Aries' successful growth and enjoys the challenges each day brings forth. John attended Orange Coast and University of California Irvine Colleges after serving in the United States Marine Corps. John enjoys spending quality time with his family and is involved in their Catholic parish. An avid history reader and sports fan- he follows all the Houston and New Orleans franchises. When asked about his Aries' career, John said, “I love my career here at Aries because working together with the dedicated and talented people we work with we truly have been and continue to be successful in accomplishing anything we plan to do. The journey together is sweeter than the destination.”
Jorge Tavares
Jorge Tavares, Director of North American Operations, brings 19 years of logistics experience. Jorge has grown and seen Aries grow as all of his tenure has been with Aries. He has committed to pursue excellence in the Nortam world and provide his customers what they want, when they want it. When Jorge is not in the office, you can find him at the baseball fields where he is rooting on his 3 boys. Jorge also enjoys a little BBQ while spending time with family and friends .
Shane Duke
Aries’ International freight forwarding department welcomed Shane Duke as the Director of International Freight Services in November of 2022. Although Duke is new to Aries, he is a veteran in the freight industry, starting his career in April of 1994. Starting with DHL as a driver at the age of 21, Dukes slowly moved his way up into a Branch Manager role spending 15 years with the company. Eventually, he made his way into a District Manager position at another company and from there made the leap toward a VP of Freight Forwarding role. All this to say, Duke clearly had the experience that Aries was looking for when it came to their freight forwarding department.
Sandy Lance
Sandy joined the Aries Team at the end of 2022 after working 30 years in the logistics industry. She made the leap over to Aries to head the Customs Brokerage Department with the goal of being able to make a larger impact working with a company focused on growth. We pride ourselves on our employees maintaining a strong work ethic and commitment towards a common goal and Sandy Lance is an excellent display of these values.
Julie Carrell
Julie brings over 20 years of experience in human resources in various roles. In her previous role as Human Resources Director with a manufacturing company, she successfully led initiatives related to Talent Acquisition, Employee Relations, Training and Development, HR Technology, and Employee Engagement Improvement, among others. Julie's educational background includes a bachelor’s in human resources management from Sam Houston State University. She grew up in the Spring Klein area. Her fiancé Jason and their blue heeler Sadie currently reside in Magnolia. On most weekends you can find her working around her property, relaxing in the pool, or spending time with family.
Jose Guzman
Jose Guzman started with Aries in 2014 and currently acts as the Regional Director of Mexico. With over 15 years of experience in the Logistics, Transportation, and FTZ Warehousing industry, Guzman has leveraged his extensive background into a Logistics Management position. Dedicated to process improvement and cost containment initiatives. Extensive background in management with proven results in production and safety while maintaining excellent Supply Chain Management.
Adam Brower
In the late ’90s, people started picking up strange new habits like emailing, chatting, even file sharing. But these were old tricks to Adam as he started his own electronic Bulletin Board System (BBS) back in ’87. It was only 9 years later that he started developing websites for Compaq, which ultimately led to his career in digital marketing. Well-versed in tech (he is a true geek), Adam has been able to combine his IT knowledge with his marketing experience for impactful solutions. Adam has proven success with companies such as HP, AT&T, Weatherford, and most recently, Luby’s and Fuddruckers restaurants. He leads with a relentlessly positive attitude and a calm confidence, even during high-pressure situations. When not geeking out at home with some random obsession of the week, Adam loves to spend his time traveling and hiking. Adam grew up in the oilfield (aka all around Texas), has 2 amazing grown kids, and currently lives in New Ulm with his wife.
Carey Treadwell
Carey serves as Director of Operational Excellence. He has 35 years of experience, with roughly a 50/50 mix in commercial and operational leadership, primarily in Fortune 300 to 3,000 companies. These roles have been regional and global. Much of his travel has been overseas. Skilled in all modes of transportation, he is adept with large aircraft charter, break-bulk cargo, and dangerous goods. He has extensive experience with electronics, chip sets, fully populated server racks, high value, high security products, and sensitive defense shipments. Carey’s focus is on day-to-day operations, with an emphasis on our North American products. He is charged with ensuring the NORTAM operation aligns with Aries’ corporate vision, delivers our clients service excellence and visibility, is continuously stress tested, well integrated with various departments, positioned for large scale growth, and investing in employee development. Carey is a Chartered Member of the Institute for Logistics and Transport, a member of the British Association of Dangerous Goods Professionals, and the Alliance of Hazardous Materials Professionals. He and his wife Michal live in Houston in The Woodlands. They attend St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church and have four grown children. Carey loves to fish and bird hunt, enjoys SEC football and travel. Having gone to the University of Alabama, and his wife having gone to LSU N.O., if the Alabama Crimson Tide and LSU Tigers are on the field, they are a house divided.
Kevin Hicks
Kevin Hicks joined the Aries team in April 2023 after working over 40 years in the logistics industry. His father was in the air freight business with Flying Tigers and helped him land a summer job in their offices in 1980. At home, Kevin has two dogs that keep him pretty busy every day and he loves lifting weights to stay in shape. He is passionate about leading mission trips to Guatemala and it’s one of the things he enjoys doing most.
