Jeff joined and became a Partner in Aries, with John McIntyre (his Dad) in May of 1985. Jeff, as VP of Operations, ran the operational side of the business, allowing John the time to focus on sales. Jeff’s vision for Aries was to become a full-service, global transportation provider. Jeff’s initial emphasis was on North American Services (air and ground), for needed growth and stability. By 1990, Jeff began diversification, adding International Services (Air, Ocean and Imports), as originally envisioned. In 1995, Jeff became President and opened his first, of many, branch offices. In this same year, he introduced Logistics and Warehousing Services, to complement the full suite of global transportation services, already being provided. In 2004, Jeff became the President and CEO of Aries and began planning for the relocation of the company’s global headquarters to facilitate further expansion and efficiencies. Jeff and the entire team, relocated into their new “home”, in April of 2009. Since 2009, Jeff has continued to focus on healthy and manageable growth for the organization, its customers, and the most valuable asset – the employees. Jeff is a native Houstonian with a beautiful wife and eight awesome kids. His hobbies include aviation, playing golf, church and spending time with his family.
As Chief Commercial Officer, Joe Bento has more than 25 years of industry experience. Prior to Aries, Joe served several executive roles including Chief Operating Officer at Radiant Logistics, where he was responsible for driving global sales development and expansion initiatives. In addition, Bento served in several executive level roles at EGL, SEKO, and CEVA Logistics. Outside of work, you may find this Hawaiian native cheering on his youngest at a high school sporting event or winding down an evening showing off impressive culinary skills in the kitchen. Joe holds a Bachelor of Science in finance from California State University – Long Beach. When asked about coming to Aries, Joe said, “Given the unique opportunity to work for Aries Worldwide, and the real ambition to grow globally, I just could not pass it up. I have lived in Houston, Texas for over 20 years, my family is here and I couldn’t be happier to be part of Aries at this stage in my career. Really excited about what the future holds.”
John Frisbee is the Director of Aries’ Corporate Administration. John is responsible for Risk Management, Human Resources, Asset Procurement & Management and Facilities / Portfolio Management. With 15 years of experience with Aries Worldwide Logistics and over 25 years in the industry – including logistics, inventory, risk management and supply chain management, John has played an essential role in Aries’ successful growth and enjoys the challenges each day brings forth. John attended Orange Coast and University of California Irvine Colleges after serving in the United States Marine Corps. John enjoys spending quality time with his family and is involved in their Catholic parish. An avid history reader and sports fan- he follows all the Houston and New Orleans franchises. When asked about his Aries’ career, John said, “I love my career here at Aries because working together with the dedicated and talented people we work with we truly have been and continue to be successful in accomplishing anything we plan to do. The journey together is sweeter than the destination.”
Bryan Bartels is the Corporate Counsel, Controller and Chief Information Officer. Bryan oversees Aries’ legal, financial and information technology matters. He joined Aries team in 2013, after previously working at General Electric. In 2004, he graduated from Marquette, with a Degree in Economics and Computer Science. In 2008, he earned a JD and MBA at The Marquette Law School and The Marquette Graduate School of Management. Bryan is registered patent attorney. Bryan is an avid reader, lifetime learner, enjoys tinkering with computers and scuba diving. Bryan lives in Houston and is married with 3 beautiful children.
Gregg Hurt is the Director of Global Business Development. Gregg is a Certified US Export Compliance Officer. Gregg has fulfilled a crucial role during his 10 years of tenure at Aries with the development of Aries’ extensive compliance and formal training programs along with ABS Certified ISO 9001-2015 and QMS programs. His primary responsibilities are interfacing with U.S. Government regulatory entities, overseeing the business growth and compliance of the global network of Aries’ foreign agents/partners and ensuring all Aries’ global partners are vetted. Gregg is a graduate of the University of Maryland with a Degree in Political Science. He proudly served in the US Marine Corps, which allowed him to develop a unique set of skills that are highly valued at Aries, reinforcing what Aries is all about: integrity, strength, reliability and taking on the most-challenging projects. Gregg has 2 grown children and resides in Houston with his wife.
Lance Raper is the Director of Business Development and is primarily focused on growth of existing clients and developing new business through client acquisition. He has more than 18 years experience as a successful international logistics and supply chain sales professional. Lance has managed sales teams and global accounts throughout his career delivering significant increases in revenue year over year through use of client focused strategy design and execution. He believes that “placing the customer at the center of everything we do at Aries is critical to their success and our success.” Lance is a native Texan living in the Houston area with his wife and 4 children. He loves to spend time outdoors with his children and is involved as a volunteer with their sporting activities. Lance holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Texas A&M University, College Station, in Economics.
Joel DiSalvo is the Director of Air Services. Joel joined Aries in April of 1997 as an Air Export Agent and has advanced over the years to The Director of Air Services. Joel has over 28 years of industry experience and has fulfilled an essential role in the successful growth of Aries’ air services. One of Joel’s preferred specialties is air charter services and working closely with each customer to provide excellent customer service. Joel is a veteran of The U.S. Air Force, devoted Christian and enjoys spending time with family and friends.
Shelby Chinyere is Director of Client Experience and the corporate Customs Brokerage License holder. Shelby leverages her many years of Customs related experience to provide unparalleled services to Aries’ customers. Originally from Nebraska, Shelby moved to Colorado to attend college. After college she entered the transportation industry and has held positions of agent and lead and after passing the Customs Brokerage exam was promoted to Supervisor. She accepted the offer to manage the Customs Brokerage and Import departments which brought her to the Lone Star state. She has been in Texas for 5 years now and says she is loving every minute of it. Outside of work, Shelby enjoys spending time with her husband and their 2 children. When asked about her life outside of the office, Shelby said, “My children are both very involved with any sport we can get them into and I enjoy helping coach all of them. As for myself I make sure that I am active in the gym and boxing workouts to stay healthy. I love to watch all sports, but Volleyball and Football seasons are my favorite!”
Roderick Tolbert is the Director of NORTAM Services. Roderick has 20 years of industry experience. He began his career as a Domestic Operations Agent and also previously worked as the Aries’ Domestic Operations Manager. His work ethic and team building skills have led to several promotions at Aries throughout the years. Currently, Roderick is the Director of North American Services at Aries which includes domestic operations, asset-based trucking and truck brokerage. Roderick believes that the operational excellence that is possessed by the Aries Domestic Services team is second to none in the industry. Roderick grew up in Houston and is actively involved in academic and athletic activities with his 4 beautiful children. Roderick’s hobbies include a passion for drag racing and restoring classic vehicles.
Lance Tidwell is Director of Ocean Services and oversees Aries’ ocean freight opportunities. With over 20 years of industry experience, Lance has a passion for project cargo and anything ocean freight. Lance has assisted with the development and leadership of Aries’ Ocean Services and ocean projects. Under his direction, Aries continues to position, define, communicate, and develop an ocean freight strategy ensuring full alignment between Aries and customer needs. Lance believes that nothing is more important than keeping Aries aligned with the market by defining and managing ocean freight services, from breakbulk, part charters, charters, in-gauge and Out of Gauge FR, FCL and consolidations to LCL. Lance is originally from Houston, Texas and is married with a wonderful family. Lance enjoys serving in his Church, spending time with his family, mountain biking, and yard work.
William VanZandt is the Global Warehouse Director. William joins the Aries team with 15 years of logistics warehousing experience. An energetic leader focused on continuous process improvement through effective leadership and communication, while promoting employee engagement, loyalty, and morale. He is excited about the growth potential of the warehouse product across the network. He understands that the key to a successful warehouse lies in its people and its processes. Willie comes from a historically deep, Texas family background and has lived in Houston for over 25 years. He enjoys serving his community through his church and spending time with his wife and 3 sons.
In the late ’90s, people started picking up strange new habits like emailing, chatting, even file sharing. But these were old tricks to Adam as he started his own electronic Bulletin Board System (BBS) back in ’87. It was only 9 years later that he started developing web sites for Compaq, which ultimately led to his career in digital marketing. Well versed in tech (he is a true geek), Adam has been able to combine his IT knowledge with his marketing experience for impactful solutions. Adam has proven success with companies such as HP, AT&T, Weatherford, and most recently, Luby’s and Fuddruckers restaurants. He leads with a relentlessly positive attitude and a calm confidence, even during high-pressure situations. When not geeking out at home with some random obsession of the week, Adam loves to spend his time traveling and hiking. Adam grew up in the oilfield (aka all around Texas), has 2 amazing grown kids, and currently lives in Houston with his wife.
